The course is delivered over 52 weeks full-time. Delivery modes include face-to-face classroom instruction, practical hands-on workshops, and flexible online learning components. Students attend structured classes for approximately 20 hours per week. Blended learning options are available for students who require additional flexibility around work commitments.

This course includes a mandatory work placement component of 300 hours where students gain practical, hands-on experience on active construction sites under the direct supervision of licensed builders. Work placement is arranged through our extensive network of industry partners and provides invaluable real-world exposure to building site operations, safety protocols, and project management practices.

There are no formal training package entry requirements for this qualification. However, students should possess a basic understanding of construction terminology, workplace safety practices, and general building processes. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of course commencement. Age verification documentation such as a passport, driver licence, or birth certificate is required during the enrolment process. Mature age applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply.

International students must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 overall with no individual band score below 5.0. Students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if they have relevant industry experience, informal learning, or prior qualifications that match the competency requirements of this course. The RPL process involves a comprehensive skills assessment conducted by our qualified assessors. Evidence may include work samples, photographs, employer references, portfolios, and documented prior learning.

Students may be eligible for credit transfer if they have previously completed equivalent units of competency from another Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or from a superseded version of this qualification. Official transcripts, statements of attainment, and qualification certificates must be provided for assessment. Credit transfer can significantly reduce the duration and cost of your studies.

Upon successful completion of all required units and assessment tasks, students will be awarded the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) qualification. A testamur, record of results, and statement of attainment will be issued. This nationally recognised qualification is issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

In addition to the formal qualification, graduates will develop advanced skills in project planning, cost estimation, contract administration, and team supervision. This course is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
